Lobby Renovation

Far Rockaway, NY

This project consists of renovation of the existing Main Hospital Lobby, approximately 5,000 GSF to accommodate a new Retail Pharmacy, Café / Gift Shop, Reflection Room and upgrade of Access Care Area to improve patient care.

This newly transformed Lobby includes welcoming Ambassadors Desk, interactive Portal Space with iPads at each assigned station and spacious Waiting area for visitors. The Main Lobby features a donor wall with highlighted colored plexi-glass donor name panels on back-painted matte white glass backdrop. Lobby walls are cladded with Caesarstone quartz panels complemented with grey linear pattern plastic laminate panels. The light blonde wood ceiling with accent bright yellow trim round disk light fixtures, lead visitors to the Ambassadors desk. The lobby areas are defined by Ameba shaped glowing pendant fixtures placed at various key locations. The ceiling is 13 feet high with large 4 feet by 4 feet white acoustical tiles, articulated by slim 1” recessed light bars, continuous run from ceiling to upper half of walls, creating strong visual design statement, while being the main source of lighting for the entire lobby. The dividers are cladded in white solid surfacing material with gradated tinted blue colored top glass panel. These two dividers defines the Retail Pharmacy waiting and main waiting without separating the spaces. The playful, organized seating arrangement with cheerful accent colors adds vibrant feel to otherwise sleek, clean architectural finishes. The random mix of three subtle grey/blue color shades in hexagon shaped floor tiles add dynamic flow to the large lobby space.

The Reflection Room provides a quiet area for the hospital and its community and has A/V conferencing technology with concealed in-ceiling display monitor. Full height custom millwork storage cabinets and a dedicated private praying area is provided within the room.
