Queens, NY

The project consists of gut renovation of portion of the Ground Floor of the Main Hospital Building previously the hospital’s Emergency Department to accommodate a new Stroke Center.

The new Stroke Center has direct street access for immediate patient treatment response. Patient treatment will be in state-of-the-art Interventional Imaging Suite containing dual modalities of Biplane Angiography combined with CT required for optimal evaluation of blockage. The Suite is designed to handle variety of procedures with a special focus on thrombectomies. Recovery bays and required support functions are provided on the same floor.

The modalities provided by Siemens include, Artis Q Biplane Angio equipment and Somatom 128 slice CT Sliding Gantry.

The project was constructed in a single phase with no disruption to the adjacent occupied spaces. Due to challenging site conditions and limited floor to floor height, the design team found creative solutions to accommodate this new equipment installation.

This Stroke Center is the latest model of patient care delivery being provided for stroke patients treatment.
